Karen's journey into the legal field began at the remarkable age of 8, deeply shaped by her upbringing as a first-generation American in a border city. Witnessing the challenges her parents faced after emigrating from Mexico in search of the American dream, she developed a strong sense of justice and the desire to advocate for those in need. This passion fueled her pursuit of a legal career where she could give a voice to others.

Karen has fiercely represented clients at both state and federal levels, handling cases in transportation liability, premises liability, personal injury, class action litigation, labor and employment law, and family law. Before returning to plaintiff-side advocacy, she gained extensive experience defending Fortune 500 companies at a major law firm.  With over 25 jury trials under her belt—more than half as lead counsel—she has secured successful verdicts in premises liability, auto accidents, family law, and personal injury cases. Her expertise also extends to workers' compensation, toxic tort, asbestos, and bankruptcy.

During law school, Karen accepted a prestigious judicial externship with a family law judge and clerked for a well-known family law firm. Her passion for family law deepened when she handled a complex, high-stakes custody case involving the UCCJEA and a newborn. Today, she continues to tackle intricate family law matters for high-net-worth clients, working closely with forensic accountants, private investigators, and other specialists.
